ABOUT ME
STORY
Katia grew up immersed in her father’s massive VHS collection. As an only child, film and television quickly became her primary source of entertainment—and inspiration. Over the years, she developed a particular fascination with video editing.
Recognizing her interest, her parents gifted her an inexpensive editing program when she was just 13. That early passion eventually led her to pursue a degree in Film & Television at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where she focused on video editing.
Today, Katia lives in Brooklyn, NY. When she’s not editing or working on creative projects, you can usually find her cooking at home, diving into DIY experiments, thrifting, voice acting, singing, or enjoying generous portions of Asian cuisine.
In recent years, Katia has taken a wide range of classes in improvisation, acting, and voice acting as she continues to expand into the world of performance. In spring 2022, she narrated her first audiobook, a mystery novel titled Not Me.
As an editor, her work has garnered notable recognition. In April 2023, the Good Morning America segment Breaking the Mental Health Stigma for Black Women received an honorary Webby nomination. In 2024, she won a Silver Telly Award for craft editing on the film Black Girls.
In March 2025, Katia traveled to Rishikesh, India to begin her yoga teaching journey. She also earned a certification in sound healing and aspires to integrate sound into group and individual therapy sessions. Alongside her creative and healing pursuits, she continues to write original music, explore sustainable living, and deepen her knowledge of food and plant cultivation.
